Nursery Build a Bug Hotel!

Thank you to everyone who donated materials for Nursery’s brand new ‘Bug Hotel. The children have loved putting it together and it has sparked lots of interesting conversations about minibeasts and their habitats.  The children helped to use a drill to make holes in blocks of wood for solitary bees to nest in. They also helped to use a hand saw to cut up the plastic tubes before stuffing them with fresh straw. We talked about how to use tools safely and how we should never touch them without an adult’s permission.  The children are welcome to add new materials to it whenever they like so please keep an eye out for pinecones and sticks next time you are out for a walk.
