Shining Lights Club

We are offering this new club to our younger pupils (Year 1-3) as an opportunity for them to develop a personal relationship with Jesus, to understand the Bible and the Christian faith, and to live for God as light in a dark world.

Andrew, the Youth Worker from St Guthlac’s Church, leads some of the sessions alongside Mrs Gray. We use the Scripture Union resources from the Light range as a basis from which to build our own sessions.

We offer fun and creative activities based on well-known Bible story themes.

A typical session will include telling a Bible story through acting, watching animations, telling the story from the Bible and sometimes even using music! Children may then draw, paint, make crafts as the main activity. Sometimes collaborative games will be played, and we always end up with a song to finish.

Shining Lights is about... discovering who God is, what he is like, what he does and how we can get involved in that. Shining Lights values exploration and discovery, fun, feelings and creativity and

uses these approaches to inspire the children to meet God through the Bible.
